The last time I bought a guitar from Adorama they shipped me a clearly returned product. Returned it and they sent me another return in worse condition.

We ended up negotiating on a used Duo Sonic to make it right and got them to knock another $100 off when the pickguard arrived wavy. I believe the total was like $200, which I couldn't pass up 5 or so years ago when I bought it. Straightened the pickguard in the oven under low heat, just sold it early this year since I barely played it.

Edit: oh, I actually bought something more recent. Am Pro II Strat in Miami Blue. First one had bad touch up on the neck. Second one had a couple paint issues and a screw Fender didn't even bother to drive in. Didn't bother keeping either even though they were 30% off (which is still like $1200).

I bought a Tele in LPB from them a couple years ago for $520 and it arrived in perfect condition. Same with a smoking deal ($1099) on the HSS American Professional II dark knight.

This is the color Adorama has been selling at a discount for several years and is offered on other often pricier Fender lines.

This is a decent deal, but be aware of poor experiences people have with this seller.

Some advice: when shopping with them, spend the $5 or whatever on shipping insurance. My purchase from them arrived with significant damage. The insurance refunded me the cost and let me keep the damaged (but still usable) item - in this case, an amp.

Definitely a great price but they could also be returned items. Just be aware of that and be OK with neck pocket cracks or other issues that would cause someone paying full price to return.

Price is super tempting but if most of the issues stem from returned-damaged items, I'd rather buy a used item I can preview on Reverb. Thanks for the feedback!

I bought a Fender Vintera Modified Telecaster for $599 when they had a sale a few years back. I had a good experience, the guitar was new and original packing, no issues with the guitar, it was pretty perfect. It's still one of my favorites in my collection today.

This is a pretty good price if you're in the market for a MIM fender. The rounded edge neck will make this a lot nicer feeling to play than a squire or beginner guitar. These are probably just unpopular colored fenders stuck in boxes in a warehouse somewhere rather than customer returns though. Definitely worth paying for shipping insurance if it's $5 since it's not coming in a hard shell case though

I've had good experiences with the seller. Both guitars I bought were brand new and I returned both for different reasons and it was a painless process. They had the Lake Placid Blue on the first generation Player series as well. Not sure why they sell this color at such a discount.

They are made specifically for the seller in the paint.

I bought one from them and it came broken. They sent another and it is fine. The shipping company will break these, but you are covered. Anger insurance as others said to be extra covered

Good deal on these. All of my experiences buying guitars from Adorama.com have been good.

I bought the previous generation of this Strat from Adorama a couple years ago in a similar deal. It was well packed, and arrived in perfect condition. It's been a great guitar, I play it all the time.

And then I'm sure they promptly taped up the boxes of the ones you returned and resold them as "new". I bought a strat from them 2 years ago that was supposed to be new and it arrived with the pick guard film removed and visible scratches on the pick guard. I called to complain and rather than acting surprised they instantly offered me a $25 refund to keep it (likely what they would've spent on return shipping anyway). I decided to keep it because other than that it looked and played fine, but it left a bad taste in my mouth knowing that they clearly sell returned/used items as new.

I bought the same Player Tele and the first one had a badly cut nut and warped pick guard. Contacted Adorama who took it back without issue, and I ordered a replacement at the same price. It arrived without any defects and plays great.
