this is a meh deal, should be cheaper, I've seen it at this price since last Dec sales. 450 would be a good deal.
Yup - should be $500 imo.

Very YMMV, but also open box Excellent is ~$470 if available locally, which is another big chunk of change saved. Like many gaming handhelds it does best docked, but the higher res screen makes it even more important if playing at full resolution. Just the limitations of current hardware and battery technology. It was a smart tradeoff to lower screen resolution for the next gen.

Pretty good price for the capability though. "Should be cheaper" is largely a subjective opinion

Thanks OP

Been reading up a lot on the lego2. Seems everyone was frustrated at the price for the z2e version at $1349. Doesn't seem all to bad now with the price of the xbox ally x at $999.99 considering how much extra you are getting.

The prices of nowaday-handhelds are ridiculous, xbox ally x $1000, lego2 $1300. I wonder how many people are afforded to get one, especially kids.

It's because of tariffs

This is an amazing machine at this price. The days of sub $600 devices seem to be over. This thing can play most modern games. People are so focused on the latest and greatest, most power etc. This is a lot more powerful than a Steam Deck and to be honest, even the SD is a perfectly good handheld today.

I'm not sure it's tariffs or not, but those handhelds will be released everywhere around the world, and they won't lower the prices in other countries.

Serious question, is this capable of editing 4k videos?

It is. End of the day, it's still a top tier Ryzen 7 gpu from 2 years ago.
