Technically correct about the $434 price. According to Keepa/Camels it listed at $300 in 2023/2024, then dropped to $200 in July 2025, then bounced around from $170, $150, $100, back to $150 and back to $100 earlier this month.

Seems like a decent buy at $100, but in the world of online price manipulation, I would consider $150~ to be the real MSRP for this thing.

Regardless of original price, I think Amazon's sale price of $102 is slick. Also, the reviews are quite good.

I can't imagine it was ever $400...this seems like the correct regular price. If it was real wood or cabinet grade plywood it would be a great price.

That means he was NOT technically correct? Seeing the all time pricing history, it was never once priced at MSRP.

This is anecdotal, but I've bought a few Sauder items before and hated every single one of them. Very poor quality, in my experience.

Why care about suggested or original price? On one side, inflation has greatly increased most MSRPs. On the other side , Sauder products typically last and $100 seems cheap. My question though is who needs today a lateral filing cabinet? I've worked from home for 10 plus years now and have the need for a small drawer's worth of stored papers and manuals. It's just easier to store that way for the once a year need. As for quality, I have three other Sauder cabinets that were purchased over twenty years ago and those are still going strong. I have a heavy stereo in one and at least that model was strong enough to carry the weight. They were then bought at 50% off at Staples for $75 each.
