I like my super automatic - it produces a solid drink, but I just absolutely love the look and style of this one. And I know it's more work, which I'm fine with, but if there isn't any major difference in quality I'll just stick with what I have.

I wouldn't buy this ever! I bought one 5 years ago. Worked relatively well but definitely not as good as a fully automatic espresso mahine (like the DeLonghi Costco had on sale for $500). But at some point water stopped coming out of group head. Did some research to and people said solenoid valve may need replacing. Did that but the problem reversed - hot water only came out of group head but not out of the frother or hot water nozzle. I thought the soelnoid valve I bought was defective so I tried it with a second new solenoid valve. The problem still persisted. Used multimeter to see if there is continuity. After all the troubleshooting, came to the conclusion that the board is defective.
YMMV I guess...I've had the Express (the older version without the assisted tamping) for 10+ years and never had an issue.
