YMMV I guess...I've had the Express (the older version without the assisted tamping) for 10+ years and never had an issue.

From what my understanding, Delonghi carries a lot spare parts for replacement. Even the brew unit is only $35!

Can anyone comment how messy these are? I had a Breville Barista Express and it made a big mess (coffee grounds), plus the manual tamping, etc.
My wife hated the mess and fuss, so we got a superauto (Philips 3300 series).
This looks like it solves the mess and inconsistencies of the semi-auto, but improves the quality from the super we have.
Thoughts? I'm also looking at the Ninja Luxe Cafe Pro which gets great reviews.
