Thats not the crazy part... California minimum wage for fast food workers was $8/hour until 2014 then it went up $1 every year. Today its $20/hour now.
Even crazier; texas subway workers make $7.25/hour in 2025... thats less than Cali workers made 20 years ago and 3x less than the same subway worker in Cali makes today.

It's honestly gotten pretty bad. Something has changed with their bread I feel like. They are also more costly now than Jimmy John's so we simply do not eat there anymore. When I was single and subs were $5 this was a go to. Honestly I felt pretty disgusting after the last time I ate it.
More costly than JJ's? Not around here. I think JJ's is higher quality but also higher price and toppings are very limited.

the last time i ate subway, a 12" philly cheesteak was $8 and that was overpriced. There's no way i'm paying $13 for one and $1 for another. lol I'll make my own. at least the meat will be real in mine

Two Subway restaurants near me stopped accepting paper coupons (yet I get them once a month with supermarket ads!) and app deals three years ago. I haven't been to Subway since despite having loaded gift cards totaling about $75. I just go to a Jersey Mike's or a mom 'n pop deli which are further away. They are both more expensive than Subway (with or without coupons), but the quality is so much better.

Depends on the sandwich.
2 BMTs with BOGO1 are $12 = $6 footlongs.

I have not been to Subway in a while.
My family prefers JJ though. JJ does not have codes usually, so much more expensive.
The last time I went to JJ (February), I bought my son a 6" Club Lulu with avocado spread. $14. That was crazy as it felt like a feather in the bag.
At the same time, Jersey Mikes had $2 off, and I got a GIANT Big Kahuna Cheese Steak for $18. It was like 5x the weight of the Lulu sandwich.
Better yet, in Philadelphia, I was able to get a large cheesesteak for $14 at Delassandros when I travelled there in January. It was loaded with meat. I brought home 3 large cheesesteaks from Tony Luke's (closest place to the airport?) because they're that good. Best sandwich deal IMO if you live in Philly.

A whole publix sub has more substance than 2 of these combined.

I ordered online after selecting subway store. They accepted my order and charged my card. When I arrived subway they said they don't accept this coupon and cancelled my order. It was total waste of time and 20 minutes of driving.

Depends where you live. I live in Tucson, AZ and the footlongs are like $13-16, so 2 for 12.99 is a fantastic deal.I see some people posting about it not being a good deal but it really depends on your local pricing.
You need to find different Subway. Even the expensive never accepts deals Subways in Phoenix suburbs (Tempe and Chandler for instance) aren't that expensive. That's Cheba Hut (much better subs) pricing. Most places here average $8.50-$11 for say a BLT. Premium subs are $12-14 but they're not worth it (you can typically make similar for less).

Its a crapshoot these days, but it definitely isn't as good as back then. Sometimes you'll get decent subs, sometimes you'll get poorly made ones. Depends on too many factors (even good places will occasionally not cook their bread well or maybe just got a bad batch of loaves or something, or someone having a bad day and not doing a good job making it, or someone that loves mayo will drown it in mayo or something). I personally still enjoy it but I just get a BLT loaded with veggies and that's pretty tough to screw up (but its has happened). I also only ever order when they have promotions because their regular prices are stupid now (but that's true of far too many places now). I can't compare it to say 25 years ago as I grew up with a great local Subway.

So all one would have to do is find a footlong priced at $9 and $5 footlongs...
Veggie Delite in my area is $8.79. Going back to early 2000s folks, better deal than Taco Bell with their Y2K menu priced items.

Disclaimer: Be careful. On the website, I first went to deals and then I clicked on the order now. It stated that the location I put is not participating in this promotion. I went to checkout and I put the promo code in and it accepted it. Judging by past comments on similar deal posts; if this code ends up going through, am I going to end up not being able to get my stuff when I get to the location?
So I guess the safe bet is to use the order now in the deals section to check and see if the location is participating before doing it manually.

Yeah the task now is to find a location that will actually honor the coupon, but that's been like that for years. Typically locations inside Walmarts will accept coupons.

The only time I've had a store not accept a coupon after order placement was a store that never used to accept coupons then miraculously did when I placed another order. It happens to be the closest store to my work so I thought great I don't have to drive 10 mins. Well I got a call like 5 minutes after submitting the order from the store saying I couldn't apply a coupon and subway cash (the rewards points) and I'd have to delete the coupon. Then I got an email saying that *I* had cancelled the order. Well screw that guy, I simply don't buy from that store any more.
I would state to complain to Subway; however, my online account was hacked by some dude in VA and I contacted Subway, only for them to tell me to change the password. Really? -_- And this was like an automated email, no customer service agent had actually taken the effort to write it. Shows how much Subway corporate cares.

I opened up the Subway app, and a foot long cost around $15 here in Santa Monica, CA. > $18 after tax. This is 3X more than $5 foot long that I last had in 2008. I ended up getting the cheapest Little Caesar Pepperoni for $7. Not great too but >50% less.
