Yes, they did - in the previous program, you had to purchase at least $50 worth of ink or toner carts every 6 months. Now, you don't have to - however, I suspect (and no Staples Customer Service rep has confirmed), you need to make a minimum (unknown) purchase of ink or toner during a certain period (also unknown) in order to recycle more quantity of cartridges.

Quantity limits: depending on purchases, the limit is 10, 15, 30, or 50 (anyone with other limits?) carts per month. If you qualify for more (or if your elevated qualifications are expiring) in the middle of the month, you may find yourself able to make contribution limits for both.
- e.g., your normal limit is 30, but then they increase it to 50 in the middle of the month - so if you already recycled 30 before the increase, you can recycle an additional 50 in that same month (for a total of 80 that month). Same thing if you got downgraded from 50 to 30 in the middle of the month

Points per cart: at the beginning of the new program (Feb 2024), many only got 100 points per cart ($0.25), and some got 400 points per cart ($2). Later, some got upgraded to 500 points per cart. Currently, everyone is able to get 500 points per cart for 6 extra carts (not counting their normal cart limit).

Hey, is everyone able to get 500 points for each of their normal cart limit? Or are some people still getting only 100 points per cart?

I can attest you don't need to buy any ink from Staples to recycle ink cartridges there. I haven't bought ink from Staples since before Covid, and I've been recycling ink cartridges for $ there (just did 2 last month). I'm never close to the cartridge limit though. I have been getting 500pts/cartridge for a while now. The nice thing is that the points immediately get deposited into your acct, so you know if something is amiss.

Ugh, so that means that the online order you place with the sales associate counts as an online order, and not an in-store order (like it did in the past)?

Thanks for the info. I was afraid of that - the thing I had greatly feared has come upon me.... Maybe it'll change in 10 years.
Yes, online order even you are paying in store. Both were integrated under new one program. Stores got mad because they lost the sale to online which hurt their #'s.

Hey, I thought it was 10 for regular and 20 for staples plus and additional 6. Has this changed and how do I check to see how many I can recycle?

No, you're right. Lots of BS info about rewards points here!

looking for carry on luggage 22x14x9 (which is the limit for most airlines), none of the staples softside luggage in stock meet that criteria. The ones that do are out of stock.

what's annoying with the staples description is they sometimes put the interior dimension height, while some put exterior dimension height.

Can I pay some portion by rewards points and still earn 100% cash back? How does reward points work at Staples?
No..if you use points you don't get the 100%..just used points to pay for coffee and they deducted the points used from the 100% reward.

That was under the old system. Under the old program, Premier and Elite could recycle 30 carts. The new system doesn't have well-defined parameters, unfortunately.

Unfortunately, I don't think you're correct. Believe it or not, the maximum that some of us can recycle under this current program is 50/month. And all that I've stated has been confirmed by myself and several other members here.

How do I check for premier and elite status? I did confirm my account shows 20

Unfortunately, Premier and Elite no longer exists - they were part of the old program. Now, you just kind of thrash around in the dark to figure out if you can qualify to recycle 10 carts, or 15, (or 20! thanks for that data point) or 30, or 50.
