Looks like the bad reviews for these are the (counterfeit?) ones that are stamped/packaged with IGANCE vs IGAN (as shown in many user photos). Grabbing a 2 pack to see what arrives.

I'd say with all the negative and positive reviews, it really depends on what you're cutting.
Spec's say 12ga wire.... I'd wager it's possibly stranded copper, not solid core.
Also, the staple pic I shared above the "staples" could be steel strapping staples... those you need a strong edge, not a super sharp edge, to cut.
