I received the RZ70 a couple of days ago. It is definitely an open-box item, but everything is in great condition.

Ok, I watched the unboxing from Audio Advice, and this receiver was packed the same with the little pieces of yellow tape holding the protective covering on. The only difference I can see is that the marketing sticker that goes on the flip-down front door is already removed.

That's pretty good performance/value for $719.
Unfortunately it's not available now.
Should come back, like it has though.

You'll have to give us your impression once you set it up & listen.

Even a great receiver such as the RZ70 is starting to lose steam now that Denon/Marantz units are able to run Dirac ART. Only time will tell if having 2 discrete SW outputs is the right call (compared to D&M's 4) for this flagship unit.

I disagree.
The "steam" loss is more to do because it doesn't offer much more over the RZ50 especially for the extra cost imo.

Since 2021 RZ50 owners have been happy with mono subs and stated they didn't need DLBC.
It's still their best selling unit.

Most people that have access to DLBC believe they have no need for it especially since they believe DLBM does some of their subwoofer correction!

Some people say paying for Dirac at this level makes no sense.

So if paying $300 for DLBC makes no sense, another $300 definitely doesn't!

I have been disappointed with Dirac Live and DLBC at this point. I paid the $299 to add DLBC. When running the setup, I heard nothing from either subwoofer. AccuEqu has my 7.2.4 sounding good. I know Dirac Live and Dirac DLBC should have it sounding outstanding, but it doesn't make that much sense to pay so much for the software that requires as much human intervention as it does. For the price, it should be able to automatically perform the settings for great sound. I guess I will spend the next week or two reading up on Dirac Live, as I am determined to make it work.

How many subs do you own? The RZ70 had at least one crossover bug known as the "off by 1 bug" (DLBC) that was squashed by recent firmware. Are you up to date?

I have two subwoofers. I updated the firmware when I installed the receiver last week. I was perplexed that doing the time it ran the test tones, it never ran on the subs. I made sure they were on a tried with set at various points. I even deleted the Dirac app and reinstalled. After four tries it still didn't sound good. I gave up for the time being and set it up with AccuEQ, which sounds decent. I just can't believe that it takes such an effort to get Dirac Live to sound good.

Thanks, I am active on the AVS forum. I figured I would read through the Dirac thread and then ask.

Yes there is some learning with Dirac.
The calibration process is critical, which people can find confusing.
Thee best one to follow imo is this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjWZUZ1MeDgOne

One great advantage is if find the results not to your preference you can make all your adjustments within Dirac.
Highly suggest using the on line version & a UMIK.

A very common complaint is about sub performance.
The video talks about it, he nails why.I completely agree with his recommendation.

Thanks for the link. I do have a the UMIK and will take your suggestion and bring out the laptop to use online vs the app on the tablet.
