Unless you buy a OWC Express USB4 (40Gb/s) Bus-Powered Portable NVMe SSD External Storage drive. Then it's not a worry at all.

Stop spewing misinformation. My external drive is twice as fast as the internal drive that comes with the Mac mini.

There are 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports on this thing. The only reason an external SSD would perform that poorly is if its a low quality SSD. For the price this thing is a beast. It's actually one of the few Apple products that I would consider to be a good deal
