This is pretty good price for this 9.2 receiver that can process 13 channels.
Do let the 100 watts per 9 channels fool you, it's solid clean power.
It easily competes with other 125-140 watt receivers in my experience.
With its preamp mode makes a good pre-pro also.
Their EmoQ RC is a little dated but adequate.
This is a no frills solid powered receiver in my experience.

Is this really better than a cheaper DRX 3.4 or an RZ50 though?
I see complaints about quality in Reddit on Emotive, and the price at $1000 is not competitive with the Onkyo RZ30 at $700 on recent sale (since over I think) from Adorama. No VRR. Only 4k, not 8k; only HDMI2.0b not HDMI2.1. No published refresh rates on specs page (https://emotiva.com/products/basx...a-receiver) - feels like a very last-gen product at high-premium pricing.
1st this is capable of processing 13 channels, none of the PAC units are capable of that.
With Denon & Marantz you would have to jump to the 6800/Cinema 30 to get it.
Power wise, no contest with either of those PAC units.
This is much closer to the flagship PAC units(RZ70,LX805,DRX8.4) in power & fidelity in my experience.
Keep in mind thee biggest selling point for those Onkyo/Integra units is Dirac.
The Integra does not have access to Dirac's subwoofer/bass room correction.
The Onkyo has it but with mono subs!
As you notice those PAC units apparently have their own issues regarding Dirac.

I got the Integra DRX 3.4 on the last SD/Adorama sale… love everything about it except the generic look. It's not that bad and I didn't buy it for the aesthetics… but… compared to the look of the Emotiva… 🤮
If this was on sale around the time the Integra deal was on, I might've gotten this. I don't need VRR, HDMI 2.1 and affordable 8k is a long ways away… if I did get this, I would've put her in my living room that has my 4k UST projector and moved my Arcam FMJ AVR550 to my Master bedroom. But nonetheless, I'm still super happy with the Integra… a little overkill for the master bedroom, but kicks the snot out of the old Denon 1910 I had in there…
