I was almost willing to pay $15/mo for Ultimate but $30, not a chance. I used Ultimate mainly for playing XBox on my tablet around the house depending on where I was (bed, couch, back porch, etc.). Now I'll just stream the games I already have on my Xbox using "Play Anywhere". I've got a backlog of games to finish anyway...

"Game Passed" indeed.

Thanks to SD I never once paid retail subscription cost of GamePass Ultimate and won't ever in future. Once my subscription ends I'll just look for deals on mid-lower tiers to keep online play then get few well rated ad-hoc games per year. My current addiction game Starship Troopers: Extermination is outside gamepass anyway and AAA titles tend to have deals fast after release.

I have Ultimate, and did the VPN thing up until about a year ago, am paid up until 09/2027. Yes, got by dirt cheap for years. I still find value in Ultimate, with some of the AAA offerings. No, I won't pay $30/mo, nor will I pay $20/mo. However, in doing some scrounging this morning I found a site that has the 3-month Ultimate for about $47 ($15.66/mo), and maxed out my account (09/2028). Did 4 separate transactions to ensure each code was redeemed without issue.

I had found an EA 12-mo. pass deal, with conversion that would have been about a buck cheaper, but went this route to not have to spend an hour entering codes.
