Considering Nvidia cards have hit their launch msrp's, I would hold the line for MSRP or less.

Damn I'm close to buying. Is saving 50 bucks worth waiting another 3-4 months for it to be at MSRP?

Not if you need a card and can afford it now. If you already have a working computer and are just looking for an upgrade then maybe.

Actually for NVidia we have seen already prices under msrp however they will bring out refreshment cards with more memory soon and were rumored to be the same price as current cards msrp. I don't think AMD is going to bring out new cards so they might not reduce the price until NVidia has its new cards out.
They would be absolute idiots to give nVIDIA all those sales! Every person that buys an nVIDIA GPU at MSRP or below is one more person not gaming on AMD for at least a few years, and the vast majority of people buying at this point (especially at this price point) are most likely planning to keep their GPU for several years of they can. If you are AMD, this is not how you win market share!

Well they are, cause AMD could have beaten NVidia right from the beginning. They had a great price on 9070XT at $600 and I'm sure they didn't lose money at that price. But then they didn't have enough cards and they play the same game NVidia does, increasing the price to get as much out as possible. I actually think in regards of pricing for AMD NVidia, that they have deals behind closed doors.

Price keeps slowly creeping down.
I'm optimistically hoping this is because the Intel B770 is around the corner and it's gonna have this level of power, but for $250 less. Team Blue is sh!t for processors, but I'll be damned if I'm not rooting for a 3rd maker to succeed in graphics cards.

You are dreaming! The B770 will never have even close to this level of performance... But a B770 does make 16GB of VRAM accessible at a lower price point, and some people are buying 9070s not because they need that level of performance, but because they don't want less than 16GB.

The difference with nVIDIA is that they keep a tight reign on what price their partners can sell their cards at... AMD simply doesn't have that level of control. And then you have some companies that are partners with both companies; I always wonder if there is ever collusion with these companies to show one company in a better light than another (like maybe slightly better price/performance)?

Yea, I saw the 5070, 5070ti and 5080 below MSRP in some other slickdeals posts so the 9070xt still being above MSRP kinda feels meh. However the 9070xt seems to out perform the 5080 in borderlands 4 (very very specific situation) so if that is something you want to play really badly right now then it is def worth it.https://youtu.be/dfaN3emhChQ?si=GVxsGYtdBdJ-rqHv
The 5080 outperforms the 9070xt by 10% in 1440p borderlands 4, and by 15% in 4k the same game. Are you talking about the 5070ti?
