Recent Ftivids bumper plate deals have been around $0.52/lb. At that rate, this $299.99 price implies a barbell cost of approximately $163. I would much rather buy plates and a separate and better barbell for around the same total price.

Not sure why anyone downvoted this. You're exactly right. Far better to buy the plates for cheap and get a good barbell.

Solid take. Get the cheaper Fitvids plates and check out the CAP classic 7-foot barbell on Amazon if you are in the market: no nonsense 35lbs with medium knurling and rotating sleeves, 500lbs max.

The 35# is technically a woman's bar. Wally World has the CAP 45# bar for $75.

Thanks. I am a beginner. It's plenty for me and I haven't notice any genitalia on it.

It's not that you can't use this or that women's barbells are lesser, they are just optimized for women (grip diameter, etc). The cap barbell is often considered to be the best beginner barbell, and it also happens to be cheaper in this case. It would be an objectively better choice for the average male. The Fitvids barbell is probably fine, and if it's your only barbell you probably won't notice the limitations.

These are awesome, 4 25's on each side look like I am lifting full plates from the right video angle!
