the knives suck and need constant sharpening. The knife block also chips away very easy and looks horrible after about 1 year.

This was my first set and was my experience as a frugal newlywed.

I came here because of a deal alert I have because I want to get rid of these exact knives. They 100% rust, they constantly need sharpening, and the fake full tang is made out of plastic and the handle is hollow so it gets water in them easily. Do yourself a favor and avoid these.

You can see some people reported in reviews as these are not rust proof. Though these are so cheap, I would pass.

I've been using these for several years and they certainly need sharpening often but they have held up!!

Victorious Fibrox Chef knife. The 8 inch go on sale every once in a while for about ~$35 on Amazon.

Edit: seems to go for ~$55 now.

Will rust even when hand washed and towel dried. These are terrible. The handles are hallow, so even if the knives are hand washed, water is trapped in the handle and drip down the blade causing rust. Needed to constantly be sharpened. Bought these pre-Covid, and with all these cutting corners, don't see how they could be any worse.

What is your budget for a single chef knife?
Both of these are about $28 right now, which is a very fair price. Disclosure, I don't have either knife but I have other knives from this brand and I trust them. If I needed to buy a single chef knife right now, it would be one of these.

It's criminal to use the word "stainless steel" on so many products when they easily rust. It's false advertisement. I guess laws mean nothing. You can call something that rusts easily "stainless steel" instead of "rusts easily low grade iron"

Poor reviews. Rust fast, fall apart, not dishwasher safe, and do not last. I will pass on it.

My experience is the opposite. I bought this from Macy like 5, 6 years on salefor $50ish. Never sharpened at all, whole family were surprised how sharp it is, perhaps I should sharpen it now, though it feels pretty sharp still.

Just realized it's the same set bought from Macy years ago, ordered one, thinking order another, LOL.

Ok, ordered another. For those who think it rust, not in my case. I have it for years, certainly before covid, no rust noticed.

If you wonder my understand of sharpness, try this one, I bought this and 2 years later, still my meet knife, never have to sharpen it.

I bought this too when it was on sale couple years ago for the same price as right now on Amazonb, $29. The darn thing is sharp like hell, I got cut twice, LOL.
