There has been a lot of talk about high lead content in slow cookers.
Some of the major brands have made statements regarding testing and the sourcing of the materials they used to manufacture the crocks.
I would expect that cheap no-name brands do not care about lead content.
Black Friday is coming soon and you'll find name brand cookers around this price.

Gourmia may not be a traditionally common appliance brand like some of the things you see out there, but Costco sells a bunch of their stuff. At least their air fryers. And your comment about lead may be accurate, but assuming a cheap budget GE (or other "name brand") appliance not having lead is Naïve.
With that said, I was thinking of using a basic unit like this with no programming features to use with a temperature controller and use it as a poor man's sous vide. To see if I like it before buying an actual sous vide. I have everything but the cheap crockpot… Lead is irrelevant with that usage anyway…
