that wind rating of 73mph its probably not an option for Florida
It's not an option for most states with this rating.

Be aware that the louvers are NOT water tight. They can handle light rain but with heavy rain they will sag down and start dripping. Everything will get wet under heavy rain.
Probably a bad installation. I have this exact model and it doesn't leak water.

Agreed that this is a really really good deal - I bought at Costco for $2k a few months back and thought that was a great deal.
I don't think so. I also purchased this from Costco. The louvers tilt slightly from the weight of heavy rain.

Very tempting but I don't want to build it. Any recommendations there?

Depends if you plan to have snow on it or not. All aluminum was fine for us in AZ but maybe in Ohio where it heavily snows maybe steel is better.

Any ideas if this will work if I need to shorten one of the legs? We have stairs coming out from our house on one side of the patio and would need to cut/shorten one of the legs

Sounds like a bad install. Have 10x10 and 10x13, both stay dry

Do you guys pour concrete base for foundation?
You should check with your city. It's not required where I live for up to 120 sq ft

Not likely, you need to screw the base plate into the bottom. I guess you could try welding it
