Great price. Wish I had bought this instead of the regular 5M + upgrades (enclosure kit $20, hardened 0.6mm nozzle $22, camera $34, LED strip free cause I had some 24V LED strips lying around). Would have worked about the same price, and the Pro has a filtration system.

In for 1. After watching a review, this runs a restricted version of klipper firmware, but can be rooted by tossing a file on a usb key and flashing full open source klipper on it! the nozzled changes are super easy, and the closed chamber has a filtration system to reduce voc emissions from abs and asa!

I'm in the same boat. I bought my first 3D printer, the FF AD5M for $162 a few weeks ago and have already spent nearly another hundred dollars on upgrades. If I had the chance again, I'd go for the AD5M Pro instead.

probably need to figure out do you want a multicolor printer or a single color.

to answer your question though just having a closed source you wont always have the latest and greatest.

If you want multicolor printing but don't need ABS/ASA, choose the AD5X. If you want ABS/ASA, go with the AD5M Pro. ABS/ASA are stronger and more durable but also temperature-sensitive and release toxic fumes, so a fully enclosed printer with air filtration like the Pro is the safer choice.

I returned my unit last time when there was a similar deal. It says free return but I had to pay for return shipping and get shipping fee refunded later. Now a month later, still no sign of getting the return shipping fee refunded after reaching out to Ali's customer support so many times. Just sharing my experience.

You don't have to get a multi-color model to do colored prints, those models just automates the process of switching filament. If you want to print colored on many layers, even with multi-color model it will be very slow and waste a lot of filament on switching
