What I like about chromebook is I can always powerwash it. But doing this with this windows laptop is not that good then? I will be checking websites and videos that might have malware and things like that.

Is this better than a chromebook if I want an entertainment laptop where I am not concerned about clicking links that might have virus or malware? I had 2 chromebooks and my current one... acer chromebook spin 514 hinge pretty much broke and only way I can use the screen is put it on a sofa for support. Otherwise the screen would fall.

In my opinion, this would be much better than a chromebook. What I would suggest, is set up a user with standard user permissions and sign in using that. The reason many people have malware infested machines in Windows, is that they are running as an "admin" account all the time. When you sign in as a standard user, anything requiring administrative permissions will prompt you - and simply do not enter the administrative credentials for anything that is suspect that you are not specifically intending to install or configure.
Also, using a browser that has script and ad blocking can help - such as brave can cut down on unwanted malware or phishing from sites.
So based on that, should I get a new chromebook or a windows laptop for this? Chromebook seems more simpler because I can just powerwash it and now computer is clean. I don't have to be concerned about now signing in email or banking and concerned of malware. Of course I have to powerwash it each time before I do something financial on it. I do financial things on my main windows laptop but do this somethings on a chromebook when even though I'm doing something financial, I might be concerned of malware so I just a chromebook for this.
The thing is with a windows laptop... if I do the things I do... wouldn't I get malware though if I download files or click on links that has malware? But not if I download linux on it? The thing is with a windows laptop... if I want to wipe it fully clean... that is a huge hassle right? I done that a while back with old windows laptops and it took over an hour total. With chromebook, it takes 10 minutes or so. The thing is if I get malware on windows laptop... isn't there a concern where when you stick a windows 11 usb reinstallation flash drive to it to do a clean reinstall of windows... it might be an issue since you have malware and even though you connect a clean windows 11 usb reinstallation flash drive to it, cause issues to it? Or that isn't a concern?
One big thing I want is the IPS screen and many of these chromebooks have it. This asus laptop has it as well and it's rare for a windows laptop to be this low of a price with an IPS screen. Of course with this windows laptop, I can do more things on it as chromebook doesn't allow many programs that requires windows or mac.
So based on all this I mentioned, should I just buy a new chromebook from Costco or this asus laptop? This asus laptop costs a bit more and well it's windows. But chromebook seems more convenient for what I do?

The thing is I want to use this laptop as an entertainment laptop. By that I mean visiting sites where I won't have to be concerned with clicking links that might have malware. I would also be going on sites where I would be watching adult videos... not paid ones so those have a lot of ads and possibly malware. So because of that, I have used a chromebook for quite some time for these type of things. I also download videos and pictures as well and well I'm not sure if it has malware or not. But since I use a chromebook, I don't care since I only do those things on it. Now if I need to use the chromebook to do something financial, I just powerwash the chromebook. Then use it for the financial things. Then powerwash it again. Then go back and do my usual things on the chromebook.

I can say that your post, has made me sad, however. Although I appreciate the "frank" nature of your disclosure, it is disappointing to hear that is why you are concerned about the laptop getting malware.
What you might consider if you are concerned with getting malware, is running linux. You can even do this in a variety of ways - boot off of a USB even, and then the OS is only good for that "session". There are so many varieties of linux that you can run - so you could download, say, lubuntu for example and run it off of a USB stick to boot. Save data instead of on the harddrive, you could save it to another USB stick - or even the same one you booted off of. That way, the system itself should be safe.
Windows 11 does offer a factory reset option in settings, that puts your system back to the state it came in, but I'd look into the above as a much better method.
I will say, that whenever we take on risky behaviors, we can suffer consequences. It does not mean that we will, but that we could. Just like a smoker can develop lung cancer, going to sites that peddle garbage like adult videos - are just going to try to malware you and steal information.
Additionally, what we consume with our eyes does affect our character. And, if we are spending our time looking at trash, it is trash that we can become. Just like hanging out with the wrong crowd; when one has bad friends, their habits, and issues they tend to be surrounded with can become our habits and issues.
We are all guilty of a lot of sinful things, and are in need of Jesus. So, do not think my post is trying to be judgmental towards you specifically. Based on the way that you stated things, you are obviously thoughtful with your desires - but, if you are given a long life on this earth, I think you will find that seeking pleasure in the fashion you are is like chasing the wind.
