Placed an order for as an upgrade to my existing phone line on Monday morning PST, got UPS shipping info later for 2nd Day Air in the early evening that says it was arriving Wednesday. The package arrived on Wednesday during the afternoon.
It did not come with a physical SIM so don't bother trying to rip open that Tracfone cardboard off the box. The iPhone 13 was brand new and I wanted to transfer over all the data from my BOYP old unlocked iPhone 11, the process went pretty well except updating the iPhone 13 to iOS 26 took awhile.
Everything from my old iPhone is now on the new iPhone 13. As other posters had suggested, I skipped all steps regarding eSIM and phone number transfer. I waited for the new iPhone to fully update all the transfered apps before I started the activation process.
Started the eSIM activation process on the Tracfone site selecting my current phone number, when it asked for the IMEI, make sure it matches the one on the box. You'll get a text on the old phone and just enter it on the Tracfone site. You have to wait for a bit on the site for it to fully process after entering the code. Got a push notification on the new iPhone to set up the new eSIM then it finally confirmed that my number is on my new iPhone.
Tested out my texts, calls and data, everything is working as expected. 90 days was added to my existing line with all my old benefits, so I now have service till January 2026. On top of the $10 CB, I essentially paid $90 for a brand new iPhone with a $50 90 days plan that was cheaper than the current PayGo Plan I was on.
Overall a positive no headaches experience of setting up a new phone bought from Tracfone to upgrade on an existing line. Also it now shows up as 'Verizon' instead of 'TFW' as your service in the top status bar.

In the past, there was a straight talk deal when some people needed to reach out but since these are supposed to be new it should auto unlock.

Should auto unlock, but I think you have to at least make one call with it. In any case there shouldn't be any need to contact them.

do you need to have 2 months of service or just the 1 month and wait for 2 months to pass?
