There must be a reason Purolator is discounting these filters are such crazy prices. First it was half off at just $8, now just $4?? Anyone have insights into this price drop?

Best guess, probably discontinuing the model. The filter is built well, but the filtering media is not up to the competitions. It's spec'ed at 99% at 40 microns. For the regular price of 12 bux each, everybody else is doing 99% at 20 microns. No reason to buy Boss filters at full price, but it's very tempting at 4 bux.

that makes no sense. 99% is 99%. whether it's 20 or 40 microns doesn't make a difference.

same with daily values on food label. that sodium is only 10% of dv if you only eat 1 piece of it. but a single serving would need 15 pcs.
