That is an extremely nice laptop for $800. Wish there was a screen brightness upgrade option, but otherwise this is great.

I wouldn't say it's extremely nice.... It's a cheap way to get a basic 5060 laptop but that's as far as I'd go. LOQ while not terrible is very basic

I don't think anything else sub 1k has the build quality and specs that this does is my point. Like the closest would be a HP Victus and it's at least a tier down on build quality. The other options in this price range are atrocious like MSI or ACER.

It's not a GREAT laptop, but at this price, in this budget range it IS a great laptop if that makes sense.

I mean I have a Legion 5 Pro and 99% of people would have called it a great laptop when I got it (metal body still etc few gens old now), and it was in it's price range, but obviously for another 500-1k I could have jumped to a Legion 7 Pro or maybe a 9 pro lol.

Couldn't stack any other discount on this price, BUT, navigated out of the /vip/ url, back to lenovo.com, found the same laptop for 809.99 and I was able to get discounts to work on that one. Both EXTRAFIVE and ID.ME discounts through student, military, first responder, etc, but not at the same time. The 7% military was the highest I could find. This brought the total down to $753.29

I haven't pulled the trigger yet because the one thing it's apparently lacking that I wanted is USB4.

The only downside with this great laptop is that it's screen isn't FHD+. 300 nits is adequate.

I have the previous version of this laptop with the 4060. It's been going strong for 2 years with no issues. I travel with it on the plane and it's been great. It's taken some bumps with no problems at all.

FHD+ (correct name is WUXGA) gets you 11% more dots down the page - but it also requires a complete redesign of the laptop to support a 16.0" screen.

I'm more concerned about the Hawk Point CPU.

For $800 it's an extremely excellent bargain. It's like saying someone is beautiful for their age. No need to point out the obvious. This is an entry level laptop, but compared to the i5 14400 with a 4050 laptops that you'd normally see in this price point. It's extremely nice laptop for the price. If you know of a nicer laptop for $800, please do share the deets.

This probably is better value than the 5070 Pro 5i that I bought yesterday. I would have preferred this, because the longevity and price difference leans toward this LOQ. The 5070 has the same vram as 5060, which every artificial benchmark armchair guru claims is the end all be all for the future.
