Slickdeals Frontpage now reverts to List view on every refresh

For the past week or so, Slickdeals now reverts to List view, rather than Grid or Simple view, on every reload of the Frontpage, requiring an extra step to select the desired view every time the page is refreshed. This same behavior is experienced on multiple Windows machines using multiple browsers, and even on mobile. Is this a new feature of the site? Or perhaps there's a new setting somewhere that I'm overlooking. Thank you!

Thank you for reporting this. It sounds like when this happens for you, you are already logged into the site and just navigating back from some other Slickdeals page, and that you are not logging in immediately before this happens. Is that accurate?

It happens for me in one of two ways. First I'm already logged in and entering the slickdeals site from a bookmark and the list view if the default. Second is the scenario you described where I navigate to other pages on the site and when I return to the homepage, the list view is defaulted again.

Ok, so I've tried various methods and here are the results:

1) If I am logged in to SD and navigate to another page and come back, or simply refresh the Frontpage, the FP reverts to List view.

2) If I log out of SD, then log back in, not only does it revert to List view, but it also reverts back to Redesign view. So I must click Classic view (twice actually, because the first attempt just reloads the Redesign view again), and then click the preferred view. And then if I refresh the page again after this, it will stay on Classic view, but still reverts back to List view.

This issue has been ticketed, but at this time, I'm not sure when the fix for this issue will go out.

This issue is very annoying. For years, I have gone to this site several times per day using the Simple format. Each time, it will show me items which are new since last visit. Now, about half the time when I visit, it goes to the List format and shows totally different items. Switching to Simple format works, but it does not use the "since last visit" method.

This is discouraging me from using the site and I am thinking of no longer using Slickdeals for that purpose.

No, it's not resolved. It's still doing the same thing about 25% of the time.
