Only $17 cheaper than it has been. Camel camel camel has shown it at $296 four separate times in the past six months.

I have this now. Great little NAS, but the default software is still working its way up. Keep hearing I should try TrueNAS. Maybe one day.

I got the DXP4800 Plus a week ago, it's really solid. Highly recommend getting one with more drive bays than 2 so you can move data around a bit easier. It would have been more difficult to move my 3 main drives from NTFS to Btfrs without having an extra bay for swapsies.

USB enclosure is like $10.

Much better hardware for the price. Software is not quite as mature (but still pretty good)

Ram is upgradable to 32gb. This is a nice alternative to a mini pc as a home server if you might have had a NAS too

Yes, though I'm pretty sure their own OS is Debian based

Thanks. Is the system pretty hackable and can I just treat it like any other PC and install whatever I want to on it or is it locked down somehow?

I've been running a DXP4800 for a few months now and these things make really great Plex servers. Handles multiple simultaneous 4K transcodes without breaking a sweat.

Do you run any docker image? I wonder how well N100 processor handles the workloads.

Would love to get a new cheap NAS like this, but my ancient Qnap TS238pro is still getting software updates and patches and it's over 10 years old! I doubt anyone other than Qnap or Synology will do that, but I guess I need to replace it before it dies...

I'm currently running 9 Docker containers:
  • Plex
  • Sonarr
  • Radarr
  • Prowlarr
  • qBittorrent
  • SabNZBD
  • AdGuard Home
  • Immich
  • Postgres (database for Immich)
and it's barely taxing it: https://i.imgur.com/057TbaS.png

I feel like it would be capable of running a lot more if I wanted to but that's everything I need.
