That's a really different product, these are class AB amps, not class D streamer/dac boxes.

It's like saying you can get a TPA3116 2 channel amp for $50, so the Vibelink no longer makes sense.

Apple and Oranges. this is a class A/B amp. VibeLink looks like a toy amp. Not hating, I have a Wiim Pro Plus.

because mono amps are a thing and stereo is multiple channels even if the total is 2.

What do you recommend for a 3 channel?

At the price of a Wiim VibeLink, this no longer makes sense. Maybe the 5 and 7 channel, but definitely not the 2 channel.
The Wiim VibeLink is the same price as the 2 channel.

Are this 90 watt amps the same as the 200w monolith amps with just lower power?

Why list it as "multi-channel" when it's just stereo?

The product line is multichannel, but the individual product page has stereo as the heading

Being Prime Day, the Wiim Vibelink is also on sale (like these are) for $239, so they are still less expensive. And the Wiims put out a few more watts. They are heavy and quite capable. Certainly NOT a toy. I've bought three of them (2 grey, 1 silver) and they look great paired with the Wiim Ultra, and sound GREAT with my Klipsch towers and bookshelf speakers. To each their own. Side note, I've held off on these cheaper Monolith amps mainly because the XLR inputs are NOT balanced like one would expect. They just convert the signal to unbalanced natively (like a cable adapter), so you lose on the 4 volts of headroom and only get to play with 2 volts from the RCA unbalanced...

Well who cares?
Electronic fuel injection replaced the carburetor and for years folks were arguing.
Electric motors are not measured in displacement, they are tiny and produce massive power yet folks are still arguing V10 this or that.
Class A/B is just a technology, not a 'best in show'. It is now older and came years before folks could even conceive of making class d tech. It was not possible then or that is what would have been used.
A/B is wasteful turning 50-70% of the electricity into heat. D is typically much more efficient. Also the huge transformers A/B requires are made of metal and so are the heat sinks required to dissipate the generated heat and thus very heavy along with cases that are often designed to weigh extra for perceived quality at little extra manufacturer costs.
Just like a powerful laptop now weighs under 3 or even 2lbs. We don't weigh an amp to find out if it is good, you measure the level of variation from the signal going in vs the signal coming out and how much energy can be added to that signal. There is nothing more. Look at critical objective reviews and buy the correct product based on performance within your $ range. Some products will have more longevity vs others but that is hard to parse out.

Tbh, they get much cheaper. Last November, I paid $295 for M7100X from Monoprice's website.

Great price on a phenomenal amp. I've installed countless systems over the years using just about every known manufacturer, and the Monolith amps are as good as they come.
My current setup, after installing and configuring everyone else's, is:
  • Speakers:
    • 2X Klipsch Reference RF-7 III
    • Klipsch RC-64 III Center
    • 6X- Klipsch PRO-180RPC In-Ceiling Speakers
      • 4 Overhead Atmos, 2 rear surrounds
    • 2X- Klipsch PRO-180RPW In-Wall Speakers
      • Surrounds
    • 2X SVS PB 16 Ultra
  • Amplifiers
    • Monolith 7x200
    • Monolith 2x200
    • Monolith 3x200
Price for performance can't be matched with any other equipment combinations. When I hear everyone else debating about company A vs. B and this and that, I just tune it all out as background noise. Monoliths are the perfect sweet spot.

The ignorance in your statements is simply amazing.
