This is more expensive than the same bundle i bought in 2022. Newer model since then but doesnt seem like much of a discount. Not sure if tariffs effected the kindle, though i suspece some companies jack up prices to take advantage of the confusion.

just bought one of these. having never had a Kindle before, I guess my expectations weren't reasonable, but the performance felt like it was using a potato for a CPU. sent that thing right straight back. the margins on these must be huge.

eInk is just really really slow.

Well, the processors probably aren't blazing fast since they purposefully don't want to be performant, but eInk is dog slow to update.

I haven't needed to buy a new e-reader in years, what is a reasonable price for the latest paperwhite if this is overpriced?

Been debating between this model or a kobo something. I like the matte screens so I haven't really been looking at the color models

How much of an upgrade would this be coming from an Oasis 10? is it worth it?
the oasis has the 300 ppi, warm light, auto adjusting light, metal back, buttons!, etc. the only thing that's kind of annoying is no usb-c but i don't charge it often enough that it's a deal breaker. page turning speed or other UI delays are not hugely important to me because i basically just read. koeader is also pretty smooth on it.

Is this still true when you turn off the kids side? I heard the most recent generation they took away the loophole and ads appear when you use the "adult" setting and you have to pay $20 to get rid of the ads. I bought a Kids paperwhite the generation before and it was definitely the best deal.
