I wonder how low we could get it if trading in a current device.

For kids books with a lot of pictures, I'd splurge for color.

I'm really tempted.I've never had a Paperwhite, so it's kind of like I don't know what I'm missing. But last year I read 72 books on my regular Kindle so I feel like the upgrade is probably worth it.

If you're torn between the regular Paperwhite and the Paperwhite Signature Edition, note that the Signature Edition is always ad free.

The regular Kindle Paperwhite is $124.99, but $144.99 if you are going to remove the ads, so it's only $5 more to get the Signature Edition and its extra features.

My last Kindle was from 2018, so I can't compare the new gen of both the regular and Paperwhite. But if you read that much, I think it would probably be worth the added cost.

Just make sure you understand that the Colorsoft has fairly washes out colors, and is lower resolution in color than when black-and-white.I personally don't feel the Colorsoft is "there" yet for my purchasing it. But, everyone has their wants and needs.
