I love mine. I got to knock off brand from Macy's back in April that was posted on slickdeals for $20 back in April and the handle broke off already. Plus the battery life on it is horrible. If you're going to brew coffee in a coffee pot, I would say 10 oz is fine. if you're going to use a Keurig and you brew a 10 or 12 oz, you obviously have to go with the 14 oz.

these 2nd gen mugs have a bad disconnection issue with the app. I literally need to delete then re-pair it every 3 days. this is why they have so many refurbished mugs, everyone who buys a new one returns it.

stay away.

Got one as company swag. I recommend just getting a nice insulated mug with a top like the ones from Yeti.

I've had my embers for years now and it's hard for me to drink from anything else. I'm a slow coffee sipper so it's nice to have consistency with the temp for a solid hour. I have, however, had 2 that had finish that flaked off over time and while they did replace them it irks me a bit to think I was ingesting something bad for a while. it does say it's a ceramic enamel but it just concerned me a bit. If you're going to get one, get the copper or stainless version which are normally more expensive. I will next time I get a new one.

As someone who forgets about his warm beverage as I start my early morning work...these have been a game changer. Keeps my tea at the perfect temperature as I sip it for an hr or so.

I also have a heat sensitivity, so there is about a 5 degree and 5 minute window that my tea is the perfect temperature.

The ember mug solved both my troubles!

I hate to break the news to you, but the mugs/plates/utensils you use at restaurants have touched hundreds of mouths.

Bought a new Thermacup (knockoff of this?) back in June for $35, currently going for $50 for the 12oz. It works great, I'll make coffee for my GF when I leave for work and it's still hot several hours later when she wakes up. Not sure why someone needs "smart" features on a coffee mug? The battery/heating thing is definitely good enough for me.
