Features:
- Keeps your drink at your preferred temperature (between 120°F - 145°F), maintaining your chosen temperature for up to 1.5 hours with the Ember Mug 2, or all day when paired with the included charging coaster.
- Smart With or Without App: Pair this temperature control mug with the Ember app to set the temperature, customize presets, and more. The coffee mug is also functional without the app and remembers your last-used temperature (135°F out of the box)
- LED light at the base of the mug will inform you when your beverage is heating up or cooling off, when it is ready to drink, and when your battery needs to be charged. Personalize your mug by changing the LED to your favorite color.
- The mug enters sleep mode when empty or after 2 hours of inactivity; Ember wakes up when it senses movement or liquid

these 2nd gen mugs have a bad disconnection issue with the app. I literally need to delete then re-pair it every 3 days. this is why they have so many refurbished mugs, everyone who buys a new one returns it. stay away.
It works without the app. Once I found the temperature I liked I have no reason to change it.

I wonder what did they refurbish. Did they hand wash the cup.
Spit shine
Other personal observations: the edges on the handle were a little 'sharp' and uncomfortable, and it uses a proprietary adapter - USB-C PD would be nice. Base was also relatively narrow, too, making it easy to tip.
My 2 cents: Back to my trusty old double insulated stainless mug.
It just... wasn't worth it @ ~$90. Still not, at ~$50 for a refurb.
