I was given one of these once as a gift. For me, complete waste of money/time as with the open top, the coffee/tea gets too cold too soon. Yes, I know that is the idea, for it to self warm, etc.., but I don't want/need the coffee (or Tea) constantly re-heat it. I want it to stay hot for several hours - period.

I now use a Fellow Carter mug, and just unscrew lid, sip, screw lid back. Coffee stays hot for a couple of hours - problem solved:

I would suggest buying the lid as well. Keeps the coffee hot at least for a couple of hours.

I bought one for $75 on ebay two years ago and i regretted it. Almost all of the charging trays will end up getting broken at the connection . It is a design flaw. I had the rose gold color and it started getting flaked in the inside and i am pretty sure that made the coffee taste funky. It is a good idea but bad execution. Vastly overpriced at the original MSRP for what it does and it is a hard pass even at these prices because of the said issues. Get a Yeti or Stanley with a lid and you will be better off.

I like the Ember concept, but after owning (and returning) the 1 and 2 mugs, the same issue exists for m.

The handle is too thin.... with a full mug, it's a bit hard to hold securely and hurts a bit.

This is my opinion... my personal take on them.

in case you are able to nuke your hot drink
consider a Tervis 16oz mug with cover 🤔
just always nuke to reheat on the lower settings
like below whatever "defrost" is on your microwave.

I switch mine off (long press) when it's almost gone to prevent that and it recharges quicker.
By the lid it keeps warmer for longer without having to have the mug on all the time. When the liquid starts to cool down hit the button and it warms up pretty quick and you hardly have to recharge it.

these 2nd gen mugs have a bad disconnection issue with the app. I literally need to delete then re-pair it every 3 days. this is why they have so many refurbished mugs, everyone who buys a new one returns it. stay away.
I've had mine for years, I never use the app. I set it to max temp, that's it.

I used to talk smack about Ember until Best Buy has one on sale for like half off or more a few months ago and I said screw it and bought one and it was one of the best decisions ever. I use it everyday. My friend bought one too after me and he loves his also. I would go for the bigger ones since the battery and heater do take up a good chunk of base of the mug._______

This has been my experience exactly. I've used my sage green 14 oz Ember mug 2 maybe 200 times and I love it. It has worked flawlessly, and for slow drinkers like me it is a godsend. It takes friction out of my day, and saves me time and mental CPUs.

The problem with the Ember iphone app is that it's clunky and slow and frustrating and… actually infuriating. For something I use every day, it takes twice as long as it should, with too many extra taps. Why in the hell does Ember allow their mediocre software to continue for so long despite the 3.4 rating in the iOS appstore?

The Apple Watch app is very good, though, and taps my wrist with (optional) notifications. The lid is useful, or something similar like a small saucer, If you're gonna drink really slow. Definitely go for the 14 oz version.

Fortunately for me the mug and the app have always worked without fail, but the app has obviously been designed by a clueless marketer, not a good U.I. specialist, ffs 🙄

Where do you get the lid? Could you link it?
