I'd bet these will arrive with my S&S orders of soup cans, protein shakes, and motor oil in the same box.... padded by a few strips of brown paper filler.

Why do these taste waaay better than normal ones even though they're the same other than color?

Only thing I can think of is they are fresher. Maybe the ones on the shelves or delivered were sitting around longer while these are obviously made more recently

I wouldn't assume that since these are Halloween themed that they were made recently. The lead times on when they start making Halloween or any other holiday themed food / candy is pretty long. By all rights, this is the time of year we should be getting the only limited edition Oreos that are worth bothering with, which is of course the Maple Creme.

My wife almost exclusively buys the holiday or special release Oreos and we've discovered that it is because they have more filling than a regular Oreo, but less than double-stuffed. I've tried looking it up and there is some debate over this online, but it seems at least partially true in our side-by-side comparisons at home.
