While I agree the a has the 5300 modem, GSM Arena lists the 9a as having both the N41 an N25 for the USA variant:

5G bands
1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 38, 41, 48, 66, 70, 71, 77, 78 SA/NSA/Sub6 - USA

I doubt it'll go lower. At this price, it's at the same level as the used 9a market on places like swappa.

Just keep in mind that the 9a uses the old 5300 modem used in the Pixel 7 and 8 series phones. The 9 and other higher variants use the updated 5400 modem. Websites like phone arena are great tools to compare what bands are supported, the 9a lacks n41 and n25 which are both 5G ultra capacity mid-band frequencies T-mobile uses

EDIT apparently GSM arena says n41 and n25 are present

Tempting, but hopefully it will go even lower for Black Friday, since the 10 models are out now, and the "a" models are basically the budget model versions of the regular phones.

I'll tell you this... ever since I upgraded from the 6a to the 9, it's been amazing.. I've been getting signal in areas where I could not get any signal at all on my 6a. I always thought it was the towers.. but it was the damn 6a! I suffered for a couple of years. The Pixel 9 has been awesome.. getting it under $400 was a great deal. It would be interesting to know if the 9a also gets better signal in those areas as well.

picked mine up for $250? from Google using the $150 off from the 6a battery recall, and it's been a great little phone. Very good to use, takes great pics and is good on battery life. the last 2/3rds of the battery seems to be slower to drain than the first 1/3rd if that's possible or maybe it's me.

either way, for around $350 it's a great non Samsung phone and it doesn't come with the usual Samsung/LG bloatware.

How long has LG been out of the phone business?

Visible deal required jumping through hoops, so not exactly a fair comparison. I did end up with a $150 pixel at the end, which was nice.

It was supposed to be locked for 60 days, but I hear they unlocked earlier for people who purchased later in the promo cycle because of all the issues with unlocking reported by people who jumped on the deal early on. My phone unlocked at 60 day mark (or maybe a couple days earlier) without any issues.
