Stock firmware is based on an OpenWRT - you can eject and install base OpenWRT for those that love to tinker or have control. Great router, no complaints at all. Pairs nicely with their selection of travel routers

Also have this router and it's phenomenal. Great wireless range, love the online management portal that comes stock (not explored OpenWRT yet). I have it running as a whole-network Wireguard VPN client which makes life a lot easier vs. per-device config. Nice that you can plug your phone in and have that function as a USB-tether during cable outages too.

Excellent router. Rock solid stability. If you're tired of rebooting your router, get this router.

Kinda want. Its like a good version of the Banana Pi BPI-R3.
Very friendly boot/flash manager vs the banana.
Can run just about anything other than dd-wrt(and they sent one to dd-wrt back in May):
Openwrt

I have this router. I replaced my 3 unit tp link deco m9's with this single router which now gives me better whole home coverage and 4 times the speed of the deco. Highly recommend you pull the trigger at this price. I think this is easily a $200 router so it's a steal at this price !

Has anyone tried their new WiFi 7 (Flint 3) router? For $190, seems like the better investment.

Just from reading the reviews, the Flint 3 is not ready for prime time and may need a hardware redesign as well. The specs are inferior to the Flint 2 in favor of the short-range 6GHz band. It ain't the one yet. At least Flint 2 specs + 6GHz will be that.

Think this is a worthy upgrade from a TP Link 1750 A7?

Been staring at this and the Flint 1 for a long time

thanks - appreciate the info. I'd love a Wifi 7 router with OpenWRT support from the get go
