Not really. This base model is really enough. The only thing you may want the air is for the laminated display and if you ever plan to do something a lot more productive with it like video editing and drawing.

I thought it was worth the cost. The M3 chip is much newer tech which means you can probably use this ipad for a couple years more than the A16 chip.
