This is the type of thing that they always put in a knife set to add 1 piece. 3 knives becomes a 4 piece set. Hence I have two (one Zwilling, one Shun).

Actually these are great. Had them for probably 20yrs and the only reason they aren't still perfect is that when my kids were young they were found using them to try to cut something metal so there's a ding in the blade... but for general kitchen use they are still up to the job. For ten bucks I'd say they're a good deal.

i have seen this design under different names and even via aliexpress
but i chose to buy them here due to amazon's easy return policy
and gladly kept them as i debone 2 whole chickens a week.
i noticed some major local chinese markets sell these for $30usd,
so a lot of restaurant workers may be wearing thru them for food prep.
you can't pull mine apart, but they seem to clean up well and not rust.
mine are not spring loaded either, but i don't use them enough to miss it.
I checked the one star reviews and most are complaining about rust within few months. Seems like newer ones are made in China even some pictures show made in Germany.

On Amazon some of the pics show the "Made in Germany" marking on the blade, but the main pic does not. Some recent reviews, with pictures, indicate the scissors they received show "Made in China" on the packaging. I don't know if they're produced in both places and it's luck of the draw which one you get or if it's a wholesale shift to Chinese production (probably the latter). Mine, being decades old, are German production.

SAME HERE! A year+ ago the handle got melted when they set the shears by the hot stove by a kid. Still usable, but not comfortable.
I've ordered these... (slow shipping for %7 back). I'll be interested in how the quality compares.
We've received a Henckels Classic set as a wedding gift in 2015 that is still going strong. We recently replaced the Henckels block with a a vertical magnetic plank-style one (as the old one was worn and took up counter space). Our shears still work, but the plastic hub busted off a few years back and it does have a little bit of rust-staining here and there. For $10, I suppose I'll roll the dice on a pair of the new ones. Funny enough, even though all our knives in the set are made in Spain (Except a large breadknife we added which was from Germany), the original shears also say CHINA on the steel tang. We shall see!
Worse than $2 scissors from China.
1. The hinge screw rusts. Please, use premium stainless for this kind of pricing;
2. Handles easily loosen;
3. Not sharp, soft steel like the rest of Zwilling.

Zwilling used to sell 2 different styles of kitchen shears about the same price - this one made in China and another one made in Japan https://www.amazon.com/J-A-Hencke...B074HDQZX4 , and they are both well made and lasting. Sadly the one made in Japan is hard to find nowadays, but this one is also good.

On ATK's recommendation, I paid $15 for the Henckel version I linked in 2017. These spatchcock a chicken in seconds, stay sharp for a year at the speed I use them, and can be sharpened at home or professionaly.
