I've been involved with power tools for 20 years. FLEX is a good product but you need to know the facts. FLEX is owned by Chervon, a Chinese company, that also owns SKIL, EGO and other power tool companies. FLEX has been around for about 5 years now and was aimed squarely @ the mid-high end tier power tool ranges from Milwaukee, Makita and DeWalt. They failed in that mission and have since released less and less tools over the last 2ish years. They are good tools, but are heavy and lack balance in some applications. They are powerful, but that's not always what DIY'ers are looking for. They offer a great warranty and good customer service, but be sure to register your tools within 30 days of purchase and have the receipt ready to upload when you do.
The outlook for the brand is uncertain. Some folks think Lowes is dropping the FLEX line completely in 2026, others think this is a way FLEX is clearing out old age inventory and battery's, hence the fire sale pricing. What I know is this...the last time I saw a Big Box store do this, they dropped the line of power tools completely, so be forewarned. If Lowes drops FLEX, that would leave them an online brand only and I don't think they would continue in the USA. I wish I had a concrete answer for you to make a good decision, but I don't. I think we will know more the closer we get to the end of 2025.

I think Kobalt is the Ridgid of Lowe's. Flex is a step above both, and nearly on par with DeWalt and Milwaukee.

Kobalt are toys. Ridgid and Flex are both above Kobalt, Craftsman, Ryobi. Ridgid and Flex are both below Milwaukee and Dewalt. If you're saying Flex is better than Ridgid thats ok. But Flex is closer to Ridgid than Milwaukee. The proof is the $89 price point on Flex. Can't buy anything Ridgid with 2 batteries and 2 tools for under $200

on a tool to tool basis Flex matches up with and even outclassed Dewalt and Milwaukee on numerous occasions. The above drill and impact are not their top tier drills but comparing the brand as a whole as closer to Ridgid is unselling it quite a bit.
