Got both this and the 7P for $81 to compare. Solid pricing on both.

Never used a Gimbal.
Bought a few of them once recording while on cruise, but never used it because it was easier to just get the phone out and shoot instead of carrying an extra device and attaching, detaching was a pain.

Looking for something like this for recording volleyball games and practices. Any thoughts on Gimbal vs just a tripod or only a selfie stick kind of device?

The DJI - Osmo Mobile 7 Smartphone 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer [bestbuy.com] is $75 at Best Buy, FYI. I opted for that one, for newer software and new condition. I know: not as slick.

If you are staying in one place, then just use a tripod. I recorded a few of my kid's marching band performance. I just used my tripod in the stands. Record it in 4k. If I needed to zoom in during edits, it was fine. Gimbal is great if you or the subject(s) are walking around and need to follow at a close distance. I just got the Osmo 360. It can record in 8k. The plan is to just record using both lenses and pick objects to focus during post. More work but it ensures I capture everything around me. It will crop the video for stabilization but again it's in 8K so quality should not suffer assuming you are exporting to 4K or smaller.

Hope you can cancel that order since the 7 is on Amazon right now for $68.

I have an OSMO SE and this is an issue I have with it.
When I take a picture while using the OSMO they're showing a location of Bostanlik District, Tashkent Region, Uzbekistan. First I have geolocation disabled on my S23U and second it only shows when I take pictures with the OSMO SE. I don't see any geolocation settings in the MIMO app.
Not sure what's going on, but take the same picture without using the SE no geotag, used the SE and gets geotag in Uzbekistan.
I'm on the East Coast of US.

Thank you...I guess tripod is the best option. I wonder if handy cams are still in use. Maybe I will get something like the insta or GoPro to record dedicated videos. the phone memory gets full soon
