Requires external 24v battery. You can get a similar unit with internal battery for not much more.

Good if you already have a 24v battery though.

This is true, but you could also use it as a stand alone inverter and charge controller. You could connect it to a bank of 24V batteries in parallel (or 2 12 V batteries in series). So instead of having a single internal battery with 1-2 kWh, the number of batteries is virtually unlimited. The challenge with an "all in one unit" is you are limited to that battery or buying a specific branded expansion pack. Ebay has 12V 280ah Eco Worthy batteries on for $320+ttl. So, with this inverter and 2 of those (~$1000), you have a 7168W 24V system you could charge via solar or AC. This whole system would also qualify for the tax rebate (~$700). Makes for a good little starter system.

At first, I would be like why would anyone buy this as you can get a 2000w/1000wh stand alone power station around ~$350
There is usefulness to this as someone point out.
You can hook up endless 24v battery making this unlimited if you don't mind the 2000w power limit.
I do like that it only require 24v vs 48v.
$299 is not a bad price as a 2000w inverter and a mppt plus a battery charger would also cost you around $300.

It's really up to how you want to run your system as you can buy a 2000w/1000wh for around $350 and add capacity via the lifepo4 to the solar inputs(instead of buying their battery expansion) or buy this and have unlimited battery expansion.
I would actually give this a try if it was in the low $200 or if it had a tt-30 plug and a higher power wattage like 3600w at this price
