Seems like a great little saw for the price. I have a bigger chainsaw for cutting actual trees, but this seems really handy for trimming back branches and smaller tasks where it doesn't make sense to break out the bigger saw.

I ran across some reviews comparing this to the similar Tietoc model (that one has a built-in oiler, but no case or extra battery), so I'll drop the links here since that question seems to come up quite a bit in these threads …

Well I ordered the Saker for $18 about 2 hours ago. Canceled it and bought this one for a few bucks more. Supposedly this deal has TWO 2.0Ah batteries plus the case.

Thanks.

Have lots of pruning to do, my reciprocating SKIL POS went up in smoke and the only other thing I have is the big Oregon 1500 which I REALLY hate using (so freaking big)..

I bet it's the exact same saw. The bodies look pretty much identical. I bet they have the same innards.

I think the saker has auto oiling and this does not. you have to manually oil this one

edit: sorry, it's this one.

I looked and Saker's description doesn't mention it, they have a picture of a bottle dripping on the saw so it likely doesn't have it either.

I went ahead and cancelled the order. It's a dealbreaker to me, I don't want to deal with that oiling crap.

I have this and the Tietoc. I tried the tietoc for a few 1" to 2" branches and the chain went dull quick. Yes it was oiled.

For $21 how could this be a bad deal. I am going to get one just to keep on hand or use as a project since I already have a saw attachment like this for my weed eater. The problem I have with a saw like this is I have trees that have grown with branches close together and even crossing over each other and I found that sometimes the branches were too close together for little chainsaw to get to one branch without nicking or cutting the other branch. What I happened to find is a saw by Yardman tools, that is basically a Sawzall on a pole and it works amazingly well for trimming branches. Cutting something big like a 4" branch, only takes about two minutes longer then a mini chain saw. I looked all over for a different manufacture of this type of reciprocating saw on a pole tool to avoid the proprietary Yardman battery, but no other company makes a tool like this.

I have a philosphy - if a product can maim you, kill you, burn down your house if it malfunctions, I will buy from a reputable company with years of track record even if it costs more. So I dont buy power tools, chargers, Li batteries, cars, etc from no name companies. Its not worth it to me. That said, I have a Ryobi hand chainsaw and find it exceedingly useful around the yard. I also have a chainsaw on a pole from Ryobi for out of reach stuff. I havent found a reciprocating saw on a pole either. Just something to consider.

used this deal to trim up dead/dying limbs on multiple trees ranging from 1inch to 6 inches. worked flawlessly. Didn't check what the battery had left for a charge but I did all my work on a single battery. I didn't see any reduced effectiveness from the chain so it's quality is normal.

My only real issue was not being certain oil was being dispensed correctly so I was constantly hitting the pump bulb on top to give more.

Anyone knows how to get just a pole? I know the company sells saw and pole together as a package, but not the pole by itself.
