I got this about 6 months ago. I was worried with all the reviews about random malfunctions mentioned on reddit and the terrible support. I was able to get it for under 400 and decided to give it a try.

My unit ended up not having any issues. My main floor is 1400 sq feet with 75% hardwood.

Some recommendations:
1. Put a cap full of the refill solution into the clean water tank.
2. Put a denture cleaning tablet into the dirty water tank to make it not stink.

3. The 3rd party mop pads are crap. Tons of swirls. Use the OEM only for this part.

The refurbished version is only $349.99 on Ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/35729176...1d87d20INT

Most spinning mops still clean better than roller & track mops. Unless you are trying to continuously mop wet spills in most cases spinning mops are still as effective and are less maintenance. They can also get closer to objects like table or chair legs and corners than even extendable roller/track mops can get. Rollers/tracks are the future but you aren't going to find any really good ones in the $400 price point.

I bought the L40 earlier this year around this price. When it works it's awesome. but lately the mop pads have stopped getting wet. The front wheel also broke, but I'm pretty sure there's a kid to blame for that. I'm sending it back for service and I will say their customer support has been great.
How much does it cost to send it back for service?

I think they're covering it under warranty. The piece that holds the front wheel broke. I can't imagine this could have happened on its own and possibly may have been from a kid putting a recliner down on top of it. When I started looking for a replacement part I found several posts of people who had this same part repaired under warranty.

I received the "L40" today, and the condition was fine (none of the protective tape was on any of the sensors or whatever, but no scratches or dirt or anything). The only problem is that the side brush was missing, and when using the model number of the robot to look up side brushes, turns out that an L10S Pro Ultra robot was included in my L40 box. According to the model number of the dock I did get an X40/L40 dock (assuming they are interchangable, the model number only match X40 that I found, hopefully both use the same dock). I did confirm that this is not an L40 robot though, aside from the model number on the robot, the side brush is not capable of swinging out to get into corners, and online pics of the L10s Pro Ultra match what I have, not the L40. They are pretty close though...

Dreame sent me an eBay message when my order shipped telling me to reply to that if there were any issues with my order, which I just did including pics of the robot and the dock including model numbers and serial numbers, to which I received an immediate reply with an auto generated ticket number from Zen Desk, I guess let's see how their customer service is.

Not looking forward to boxing this back up and dealing with a return, this is a bulky SOB :/.
Does the refurb come with the standard 3 year warrant plus the 1 year allstate or just allstate 1 year warranty?

I was skeptical, but I bought this the last time around, and it is amazing.

It replaced our much older robot, and this has been a game changer.

Really surprised as how well it can map, vacuum and self clean.

I just purchased the Mova P10 Pro Ultra, which is equivalent to the L40. How is the L40 better? I see better suction specs on the P10, as well as higher mop pad cleaning temp.
from my search the main difference is: the L40 Ultra has the ability to detach the mop head

I've got 10,922 minutes and 54,908 Sq ft on my L10s. I've generally been happy with it, I just wish I didn't have to refill and empty so often. The price on auto fills are getting tempting

I own both the Mova P10 Pro Ultra and the Dreame L40 Ultra for office/home--yes, the Mova cannot auto detach its mop pads. Otherwise they're the same with interchangeable parts.

I have both the Mova P10 Ultra with 400k square feet on its "odometer" (office) and this L40 Ultra with 45k square feet (home). I've been happy with both of them in the 10+ months I've owned them. My first L40 was a dud, but Dreame support was surprisingly effective at replacing it quickly, and it's been running fine since.

You can install Valetudo on these to remove them from the Cloud, which is nice. https://valetudo.cloud/
You have to have a special board to install it, but you can solder or buy on eBay somewhere.

My first thought was that it would make it compatible to enter Robot Wars.

A friend got this at 700 dollars now I feel he was cheated
$700 is a pretty good price for what you were getting. The fact that we can get a robot vacuum with this many features for $500 is like cheating the manufacturer.
