All I want for Christmas is a 9070 XT at MSRP.

Wish for something better... Like the Ai bubble bursting and making Nvidia and AMD ever regret sucking Sam's wiener instead of providing affordable video cards.

The Ai bubble burst would also solve a lot of other problem but that's a whole discussion

I would love for the AI bubble to burst. Been holding off on a new card till prices come down. Paid like $400 for my 7800xt back a few years ago...almosy $700 is wild

Ai bubble will burst but it will not change the nature of the industry. These GPUs will largely continue to be made for AI until it eventually destroys us all.

The only way it will stop is if people stop using it, and they will not.

People didn't stop using the internet during dot-com and that bubble popped. Stupid greedy investors chasing valuations and revenues that don't support the investment dollars being spent. Already seeing some diminishing returns with AI. AI is a long-term here to stay just like the internet but too much money has been rushed/pulled forward and the tech isn't there yet. Cart leading the horse sort of thing.

And unfortunately for all of us and unlike the dot com bubble, instead of creating jobs, this is only destroying them.

10% more in price. Does it give 10% more in performance? Serious question.

10% more price than what? If you are comparing with a $600 9070 then yes this probably makes sense you'll get more performance than the price increase. At release the MSRP price difference was $50 and most reviewers said the 9070 didn't make sense. The stock 9070XT is less efficient because power budget jumps up a bit in addition to having more compute units enabled but from a performance perspective it probably makes sense. The price gap between the two probably needs to be closer to $100 for the 9070 to make sense.

Anyone have thoughts on trading a 4070 ti Super for the 9070xt? It would essentially be a wash on the money, looking at Neweggs trade in value. Considering installing Bazzite either way.

I was going to say, I'd only see it worth spending the money if you really wanted a Radeon GPU for some reason like running Linux. That was exactly why i sold my 3080ti and bought this card lol. Compared to that card, this one performs notably better and quieter since it uses about 80-100w less power.

The 4070ti uses less power than a 3080ti and generally has larger heatsinks. This card is about the same size as my evga 3080ti ftw3 was. Despite that, it's actually one of the smaller 9070xts lol.

I think asrock did well with it. I've had zero issues. I'm using fedora linux and it runs fantastic. All of the games I play run just fine in proton, or natively.

You don't need an AMD GPU to run Linux. I just got fed up of dealing with akmod every time there was a kernel update.

So buy a 40s series used for now? I mean yes, but the Ai bubble will burst eventually when the lawsuits come in, which may take a while.

I want this card when the Steam OS eventually comes to PCs. Which still seems like a long ways.
