I enjoyed this as my retro handheld, but if you're prone to eye fatigue, I strongly suggest something with a bigger screen.

It's my favorite value handheld. Will play anything up to psx flawlessly. Can play some dreamcast and some n64 games. I suggest you flash KNULLI Gladiator II, it's great.

Do not buy any retro handheld around this price range anymore now that Ayaneo is about to DESTROY all these low cost handhelds with their 55$ system that has a beautiful 960p 4:3 display for perfect interger scaling and can play up to Gamecube/PS2: https://www.ayaneo.com/product/AY...t-AIR-Mini (launches soon).

I'm a retro / handheld gaming noob. Considering many of us probably have an old phone lying around with a better display and more powerful specs, is it possible to side load a retro emulator software / app, and use the phone with a controller like Razer Kishi, or Backbone One? Appreciate any leads.

where is your source that this will be $55. as far as I can tell it had an early bird price of $70, but an expected launch price of $100

2gb ram version starting at $70 for limited launch time, then early bird price at $75 and retail at $90. I get your point, but to be honest, for anyone who only wants to play up to PS1 games, these $40 are the best. Spending almost double the price for this would be just silly. And to be fair, this new unit isn't worth anywhere near the retail price of $90 with that old chip and being barely able to emulate a handful of PS2 games. I watched a full review of the unit and its definitely not worth the money. When youre hitting $80 range, there's far more better options out there during sales, especially this time of the year. If it was at the $55 price point as you mentioned, then yes, it would have been a no brainer purchase over these cheaper $40 units, but it's sadly not.

I don't think that's right.

It looks like it's delayed, pricier than thought, and a kickstarter (Indiegogo) campaign. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Aya...304.0.html
