It's better than a HDD, but surely not the fastest SSD around. If you're upgrading from a HDD this deal is a no-brainer.
If you're looking for the fastest SSD gaming speeds, you might want something from the Samsung 990 series.

It's a very good price, but I've sold pny before and their failure rate is very high. I'd think twice

Don't listen to the last guy, ppl have used slower nvme without any issues and I have a 2TB with similar read speed in mine. While it's not the best, it'll work for PS5. Your games might load like a second slower than the higher end NVME, just have to be a gen 4. Can't beat 4TB...

If you can swing an extra $20, there's the Samsung 4TB for $200 that is 7200 read/write.

I'm still irked at the last one not making it 30 days. They offered a replacement but I won't send back a hard drive without verifying a wipe. If I could drill the roms this would be acceptable. My SSN is already on the darknet.

PNY doesn't have the best reputation because it is considered a "budget" option. Reportedly, they don't actually manufacture their own stuff and buys the components and assembles them based on their own designs. Tom's Hardware has described some of their m.2 products as "speedy mediocrity". A lot of geeks/enthusiasts turn their noses up at PNY products.

Have had really bad luck with PNY

Every single one of their SSDs I have, dies in under 5 yrs. Their USB thumb drives are crap too. I just avoid this brand wherever I can and will gladly spend extra for something else.

If I have to buy something on a budget, I will buy Micro Center's in-house label
