About this Title:
- 17-year-old Suzume's journey begins in a quiet town in Kyushu when she encounters a young man who tells her, "I'm looking for a door." What Suzume finds is a single weathered door standing upright in the midst of ruins as though it was shielded from whatever catastrophe struck. Seemingly drawn by its power, Suzume reaches for the knob…
- Doors begin to open one after another all across Japan, unleashing destruction upon any who are near. Suzume must close these gates to prevent further disaster.
- The stars
- The sunset
- The morning sky
- Within that realm, it was as though all time had melted together in the sky—Guided by these mysterious doors, Suzume's journey to close doors is about to begin.

oh, and the HDR implementation on the 4k release really adds some impressive visuals during certain scenes. It's a shame North America doesn't get the 4k version.

Those waiting on a 4K version, I doubt it'll get released in 4K here. The market is just not that big for multiple physical versions. Also, in my opinion regular HD is fine for the anime genre. Most of the visual appeal is in the art style.
Btw, the movie is on Crunchyroll if anyone subscribes to it. I was surprised as I hadn't known that Crunchyroll carries movies as well. The platform is not designed for movies, as this shows up as a TV show -- the movie is Season 1 Episode 1, which I found to be funny. But it's there. Don't remember if it streamed in 4K or HD though.
About the movie - it's great. One really has to stop comparing every one of Makoto Shinkai's movies to 'Your Name'. Of course, that one was was a masterpiece. But each of his movies are great in their own right. Watch it without the baggage of weighing the experience down with comparisons, and you'll really enjoy it. This movie, like all of his other ones is definitely worth owning.
