Money can be made up?? That's horrible advice. That's exactly how people spiral into large amounts of debt, if money can be made up over time it can also be saved up before hand to offset the cost or cover it entirely. It's not like Disney & Costco don't have these promotions every year and they're certainly not going anywhere. Taking advantage of offers and promotions, sure but to just throw financial caution in the wind instead of waiting another year is insane. That's how you grow a $3000 trip into a $6000+ trip because "I'll make up the money later".

Multiple restrictions to use these tickets.

To enter a park, both a theme park reservation and a valid ticket for the same park on the same date is required. Theme park reservations for CA Resident Park Hopper Ticket Offer holders are limited in number and subject to the availability of park reservations allocated to the CA Resident Park Hopper Ticket Offer as determined by Disney, applicable blockout dates, and theme park capacity. Reservation availability for CA Resident Park Hopper Ticket Offer holders is not guaranteed for any date and reservations may be difficult to get for any particular date, especially as the ticket expiration date approaches. To ensure best availability, make reservations early. On any given date, park reservations may be available for general theme park tickets even though park reservations allocated to the CA Resident Park Hopper Ticket Offer are fully reserved. CA Resident Park Hopper Ticket Offer holders are not entitled to any reservations Disney makes available to others. Parks, attractions, entertainment, experiences, services and offerings may be modified, limited in availability or unavailable, and are subject to restrictions, change or cancellation without notice. Park admission and offerings are not guaranteed. Visit Welcome to a Land of Magic for more information about visiting the Disneyland Resort.

I just saw this is better than the Costco deal. Especially if you can live without lightning pass BUT can one really do Disney without it? Expect 2 hour waits for everything I assume?

I looked and a lighting lane multi pass is another $102 PER TICKET (i believe thats on the lowest price and can be higher depending on date)

So this becomes a $350 per ticket compared to the costco's $450, but I bleieve that came with $20 food credit so you can buy a drink or 1 churro that disney adults seem to make out like its better than an orgasm.

On the website if you buy a 3 day, and add a lighting multi pass you cant just select a day or 2. It will always be 3 days to match 3 day ticket.

To save money is there a way to purchase it after for only 1 or 2 days? I figure on the first 2 days with the lightning we can hammer out all the rides, and on 3rd day just whatever. For a party of 6 thats saving $200 omitting 1 day on the lightning.

I also just saw these lighting multi pass doesnt even get you star wars rise of the resistance or cars radiator springs. Thats an ADDITIONAL pass/charge?

Plus another $120 for 3 day parking

Regular Price:
3-Day Park Hopper Ticket
Wednesday, January 21, 2026 Starting at Disneyland Park
Thursday, January 22, 2026 Starting at Disney California Adventure Park
Friday, January 23, 2026 Starting at Disneyland Park

I'm looking at for party of 6: $2226 before hotel cost, star wars/cars lightning, food, transportation, souvenirs. Looks like I should expect at least $3000

WOW. Disney adults whats your reasoning to go through this all year. Already stressed out just pricing it out.

any tips on how to save money for tickets and passes for a family of 3 excited to see cars land from out of state who are staying with friends?
Purchase Disney gift card at discount and use it toward the ticket purchase. Also apply for Disney credit card with Chase to get some cash back.

so i do this for a living. i always tell my friends & family, money can be made up and there are ways to pay for your trip. if you book directly, i believe you don't have to pay for everything up front. just make payments when you can, using disney gift cards purchased at a discount. target red card 5% off, sams club, etc..

$249 for standing in line all day in the sun for 45 second rides. Yikes!
It pains me to even defend it but if you go at the right times it won't be all that busy. There tickets are intentionally sold to use during a less busy time of the year. In addition the weather is usually quite nice in socal from January to may. Sunny but not hot.

I purchased 3 tickets with LLMP for $351 per ticket ($249 + $102 LLMP). I did 2 separate transactions, since you can only do 1 gift card at a time, and each gift card has a max of $1,000. I first combined gift cards at https://www.disneygiftcard.com/.

FYI, can't use the kids offer with this one. The dates don't match.
  • This offer (age 3+): 1/1/26 - 5/21/26
  • Kids offer: 5/22/26 - 9/7/26

Went last Sunday cause all of the online busy calendars said it would be a ghost town.
It.... was not lol. The most popular rides had an hour plus wait most of the day. I had to have a 5 hour wait for the lightning pass for guardians to ride it at 9:30pm. Still though, when I got there around 8am I rode ~22 rides (a couple multiple times).
I stilll have one more ticket and have to decide if I want to go on Saturday or use a PTO day.

it's never NOT crowded there. with all the entitled passholes there trying to make their annual pass worth it (like making it 10 bucks a visit by the end of their contract). fridays are the worst day because they go there after work with their co-workers or family because they can. makes it miserable for paying out of town tourists.with that said, the last 2 weeks of the year is when they are ALL blocked out!!!

When is it slow? I plan to make my children ditch school to have a nice experience and not have to wait 2 hours for a 45 sec ride and be forced to tell ourselves that was MAGICAL like all the brainwashed disney adults
Just look up Disneyland crowd levels and the estimates are pretty good. Last year we went in mid-January almost immediately after the holiday decorations went down and it wasn't too crowded as far as Disneyland goes. Every ride under 1 hr wait.

Weekdays and non-holidays are your best bet. Also, check fireworks and World of Color schedules because if there are no planned fireworks that day, then Disney is already planning on that day being low crowds. We want to see fireworks, though, so we'll plan for a fireworks day either the day before or after a non-fireworks day.

Be careful of days in which you see the park you want to go to is closed early due to a special event. The special event draws crowds AND you have a shortened day so it's not worth it.

Not related to this sale, but October outside of the Halloween Party days is another time when crowds are low. Usually there's non-fireworks days planned during this season, too.

That being said, the downside of going on a day with less crowds is usually Disney plans maintenance on rides during the low season. You may find your favorite ride is shut down if you're avoiding crowds, so you should check beforehand if you care.
