if it's the XT2405V , the v for verizon edition which total wireless is a subsidiary of verizon and the 2405 being the 2024 edition of the moto edge

than these are the various frequency bands if one wants to port out once unlocked to t mobile or at&t
https://www.globalcertificationfo...12138.html

and these are the specs of the soc , ram , storage and other features

Posted this in a deal thread for the 2025 Edge. For those curious (which is likely very few), I love my $40 Motorola Edge 2024 (got it 6-7 months ago on a similar Total Wireless deal) for using with my RayNeo Air 3s glasses. Glasses are OLED 1080p/120hz capable and the Edge 2024 outputs this no problem (Type-C port, USB 3.1 | DisplayPort 1.4 Support). My Samsung S25 Ultra with Dex only does 60hz max, which is artificially limited by Samsung which is simply ridiculous.

So far as I can tell, every 2025 Motorola has opted for USB 2.0 speed ports, which also means no DP 1.4 output. I have no idea why this was the choice, as Motorola's Dex like utility (Smart Connect) is actually pretty darn good.

For those that use this for that feature, you're better off snagging a 2024, used or new. I love mine for Moonlight game streaming and watching movies/YouTube in bed while the wife sleeps. I can do 1080p and 120hz for Moonlight game streaming to my AR glasses and it's simply amazing.

So this phone is pretty good. I try to keep a side phone/back up phone/wifi phone for the kids to play with. Good storage, snappy response time, quality screen and doesn't take up too much bulk in your pocket. Runs most games without an issue and good battery life. But now for some weird things.

It likes to install bloatware games during updates. My app drawer will clearly look different and I notice majang and solitaire on there. I've deleted those before. When unlocking the device I'll get a moto UI that comes up that wants me to shortcut everything to that platform. I've removed it and uninstalled it but it comes back with updates. It's almost like those amazon tablets with and without ads, but it never gave you the option. As a backup phone these are minor annoyances, but as a main phone I would be furious having to deal with this all the time.

I snagged it on last year's deal and held it for the two months and it unlocked just fine, but I've been using it regularly since then and those are my gripes.

yep I have one of these from Total Wireless unlocked and running on US Mobile's Darkstar (AT&T) network without any issues. voicemail, wifi calling, etc all work fine.
Thank you for this comment. I am looking to do the exact same thing, and you have alleviated all my worries. (The buy one annual unlimited Darkstar line, get two free deal that US Mobile was running last week was too good to pass up, but we had two of our three Pixel 5a's do their two year old dance of death thing in the last couple of months, and I'm pretty sure the third one is on borrowed time.)

Can one not activate the phone right away but do it such as in one or two months?

I know this isn't exactly the correct thread--and the free iPhone 13 Total Wireless deal isn't running right now anyway--but does anyone know if the same cautions about service bands and compatibility apply with the Total Wireless iPhone deals? I've never had anything Apple, but my daughter keeps mentioning that she wants to switch to be able to facetime her friends. Her annual plan is going to be up around Christmas, so it would work to switch her over for a few months if they have a deal running at that time, but I would want to be sure I could put her back on US Mobile Darkstar after a few months. (Verizon has no signal at her school; she can't take her phone in the classroom anyway, but I would still prefer to be able to get through to her there after class if needed.)
In the meantime, I think I'm going to go for this Edge deal and see how it goes. We have had a couple of Pixel 5a's die recently, and have a Red Pocket annual plan that the grandparents use that is about to expire, so it seems like a good way to replace one of those Pixels and actually put the 3 months of service to use.

I don't know the specifics of your case but all iPhones in the same regional market comes with the same bands. There are no discernable difference in the hardware between carriers here in the US - unlike Android and it's carrier-variants of the same phone. iPhones will be SIM locked to the SIM inserted at first boot - which then requires you to follow that carrier's network requirements before they will send the switch to SIM unlock an iPhone. So if you purchase an iPhone with TW and meet their requirements (2-months of TW service), then it will be eligible for network unlocking and then allow her you to both use US Mobile and make your daughter happy. Get the iPhone now and keep it in a drawer with the service activated and then unlock it in December and switch it to your family plan. Perfect Christmas present woot

Hey about those RayNeo Air 3s glasses, I'm looking into getting those and my question is do you need to take them to get prescription lens put in if you wear prescription eyeglasses?

I make YT videos.

I use this
Pixel 7 Pro
Canon G7x Mark ii camera
Go Pro 9

This phone has easily been the best out of these four. So much better that my regular subscribers asked if I got new equipment in the very first video I used it in. I think I am going to get a 2nd Motorola Edge 2024

As for still photos, I rarely take them so I can't answer that.
Does this model camera have long exposure/star trail mode?

Thhis was already answered when the previous person asked, did you see that reply?
Like all the AMEX offers, it varies. You just need to log into AMEX and check your card(s).

Afaik, this is a platform limitation, Snapdragon 7 & higher SOCs have built-in DisplayPort support. Dimensity 7xxx and Snapdragon 6 gen SOCs do not.

I guess 2025 Motorola spent their budget on flagship OLEDs rather than chipsets.
