You wanna know that it's very difficult to port out when you want to switch to another mobile carrier. Look up online for other users' port out experience.

Introductory rate is pretty meaningless with mobile. The trouble and disruption is too much.

I use Mint Mobile, and it's a good option where I live, and it's also cheaper in the long run.

Privacy app, setup your monthly allowance and consider the number disposable. It's prepaid service so it will stop when the payment fails.

FYI, lycamobile's phone number is not safe. Your phone number can get hacked and stolen. The hacker can then access to your other financial institution that is connected to this phone number and get access to those. This happened to someone I know personally few months ago.

Cheaper to have this as a "backup" data option than adding to my current prepaid plan

Added as a new number with second eSIM to avoid the porting issues

Exactly, especially with such a massively inflated regular price. You could jump from intro rate to intro rate between carriers, but porting is a pain. I've started just doing RedPocket's 1-year plan and it's really nice not to think about it for a year. I'm looking at Infimobile's 1 year plans since they're even cheaper, but I don't know that I want to switch to Verizon or T-mobile service. AT&T through RedPocket works well everywhere I go.

This is actually the best way to use these plans. With dual sim and 10GB of hotspot, great deal. I can comfortably watch SlingTV in my car. Just don't extend or port in/out. And turn off auto renewal during the last month.
