It's the top soundbar surround system, beating everyone else's flagship system (you can look up the Rtings review), so 51% off is great.
I'll revise this comment to say that the Q990D (I originally missed that this is the Q990F), which was the top soundbar before this, goes on sale semi-often for between $680-$799. Granted those prices are almost always through the Samsung EPP store. So, not everyone can get it that cheap. A lot of people do qualify, though. A lot of employers partner with Samsung.
It's the top soundbar surround system, beating everyone else's flagship system (you can look up the Rtings review), so 51% off is great. However, this does go on sale semi-often for between $680-$799, so it's not the best price. Granted those prices are almost always through the Samsung EPP store. So, not everyone can get it that cheap. A lot of people do qualify, though. A lot of employers partner with Samsung. A couple friends of mine have this, and it's awesome.
I've never seen the F version go down to that price is that right? I know the D version yes.
Beware, even though they claim "new" inspect everything over and make sure its working. Mine arrived with minor imperfections, thus leaving me to believe that these units arent "new". Good luck.
Just an FYI. RTINGS is not end all be all. They still have subjective qualities. For example, they do not test a soundbar system that uses a subwoofer, without the subwoofer to see if the bar itself has adequate woofers to fill in low mid frequency nulls. They test it as a singular unit. But a sub's effectiveness varies greatly on room positioning. Yes this is the top soundbar, but I've never seen it properly tested for the fullness or tinny sound because as soon as ppl plug in the subwoofer, play Mad Max, and the room explodes, they turn off their subjective ears. I've gone through a few soundbars now always disappointed on male voices in movies because they don't have the resonance or fullness from say, Robin William's voice. I myself have not tested the Q990 units but that is again, because no one I have talked to has commented on fullness and they are easily carried away by volume and the sound bubble these units create

Mine came brand new. No imperfections and working flawlessly. Missing the large sticker that are shown in youtube "unboxing" video but I'm guessing Samsung stopped putting the big sticker in recent production as some have reported.
