The knockoffs with acceptable NSF/ANSI certifications are frequently $12 each for LT1000p equivalent. Shy of this being OEM and hence lower risk of poor quality, I'm missing how exactly this is a good deal.

This is an excellent deal and a great time to stock up!Regarding the knockoffs - Just because it tastes fine doesn't mean it's taking out everything it is saying. To me, it's not worth skimping on something we're consuming so much of.
Or you could test the water and determine for yourself if the fears are simply a myth...been using a knock off for 6 years now, testing water quality each time at the lab that's easy access for me at work place. No issues whatsoever.
Which one have you been using?
Have you tested both unfiltered and filtered to see improvement in water quality?

I haven't had luck with knock off's. I always have leaching issues. I have an RO line to the fridge so fridge filter is just to polish it, but the knock offs always have issues. Which ones do you buy?

$7.66 each. Can even get with the square filters for air quality.
Never an "issue"...

ICEPURE PLUS ADQ747935 NSF/ANSI 53 Certified
Yes, but that depends on your city incoming water quality.

I definitely want filter options.

Maybe I misunderstand some things, but I thought nsf/ansi 53 included lead.

I've not yet found icepure on the nsf certification 53, lead removal list, https://info.nsf.org/Certified/dw...uction.asp

JFC why are you guys doing this. Just buy a 1/4" inline filter its like $12 for 10k gallons, or the 5 year filter for $30.... you literally just push in your line and rinse for a few minutes.
