So annoying this doesnt apply to pc. Wtf do they care whether I'm playing thru Xbox or Xbox app

$ is why there's no crossbuy and cross-save/progression takes a backseat. There are some great games that have crossplay/save like Warframe but they are few

Don't listen to B20 above. If you liked any of the previous Borderlands, you'll like this one too. Gameplay is more similar to 2 than what 3 was. I've completed the Story and highly enjoyed it.

I do not like BL2 because of the stupid grind without any good weapons; But I loved BL3 because of the QOL updates and because of the cool weapons that you could get and try at the drop of a hat.

I understand and agree that if one is a hardcore gamer then they might like BL2 more, but for a casual gamer that wants to play and try out the cool weapons/shields/artifacts while still blasting your way through multiple missions/farms BL3 is more fun.

Just to add to this, I even liked BL1 and BL-TPS. BL1 because it was so fresh with Pandora and the vault-hunters, different enemies, etc. And TPS because of the cool mechanics of jumping/flying.
